Made From Recycled Car Parts.
Q. What do you do with a recycled aluminum Stegosaurus?
A. Anything you want to! Use it as decor, a paper weight, a napkin holder. Gift it to a kid or a grown-up kid. Give it as a wedding present, "May your love never go extinct." Keep it for yourself.
These fun sculptures are created out of old car parts and scrap aluminum collected from the garbage dumps in Nicaragua. Using an age old sand-casting process, the metal is melted down, cast and then polished to perfection. These little pieces of art are bound to create a conversation wherever they roam.

Fair Trade — In a nutshell, fair trade is about ethical business practices. Women of the Cloud Forest are proud members of the Fair Trade Federation, a North American based membership organization made up of organizations like ourselves who offer opportunity to artisans and farmers in developing countries. To quote the Fair Trade Federation, fair trade means “good wages, safe working conditions, environmental responsibility, and more.” It means our partners are empowered to build strong businesses for their families today — and for generations to come.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Women of the Cloud Forest has been working in fair trade since 2001. They have direct, long-term relationships with small family workshops and cooperatives in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Peru. In addition to placing consistent orders with their artisan partners, they provide business training and product development/design and no-interest micro-loans and direct grants for workshop capacity building. This holistic approach to business enables our artisan partners to grow their businesses and access new markets without creating cycles of dependency.
