Plastic-Free, Eco-Friendly Lunch Box Set
This classic stainless steel food container set contains nesting bento boxes, perfect for packing a healthy entree and two side dishes. Three different sections keep food from touching and mixing and are also great for portion control. Modular design allows you to remove the snack container to use separately, freeing up more space. ECOlunchbox stainless steel containers are all crafted from high quality stainless steel free of BPA, phthalates, and BPS.
WHAT'S GOOD?
WHAT DOES IT REPLACE?
Plastic is a petroleum-based material that leaches chemicals in our food, our bodies and the environment. Stainless steel food containers are a great alternative to any plastic or one-time-use containers that end up in our landfills. Better for you, and better for the earth!
BORING (BUT USEFUL) STUFF:
Size: Total capacity is 31 oz (3.8 cups). Bottom section has 12 oz capacity (1.5 cups). Top section has 14 oz capacity (1.75 cups). Snack container has 5 oz capacity (.75 cup). The nested set of containers measures 4" wide x 5.5" long x 3" high.
Tare Weight: 16oz.
Care: Wash with hot soapy water and detergent, or place in the dishwasher. Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleansers or pads. With proper care and cleaning, your stainless steel lunchboxes may be used for years and years to come.
To remove any deposits or stains, ECOlunchbox recommends using a baking soda paste. Simply mix a tablespoon of soda with a little water into a thick paste. Coat the problem area and leave for half an hour. Then rub with a damp cloth, rinse and dry.
For more stubborn cases, a Nylon non-abrasive pad with detergent should be adequate for dealing with most deposits. Note: Water with a high mineral content tends to leave water spots, so in this case, it is recommended you wipe the surface completely dry with a clean, dry cloth.
When warming foods: Stainless steel is oven safe and foods can be warmed in our ECOlunchboxes up to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit. A toaster oven also works great! Use over a camp stove is also acceptable. (Please note: Heating over a campfire might work if done carefully, but the fire will blacken the bottom and it's harder to control the heat, so the container could get damaged and we don't recommend it.) Keep in mind that metal is conductive and will get hot.
Important safety note: Stainless steel is not for use in the microwave. ECOlunchbox containers are not recommended for freezing foods either, since freezing swells liquids and the expansion will split the steel.
Note: Set is not leak-proof, since no plastic gaskets are used.
