G.I.R.L. go-getter | innovator | risk-taker | leader™

This image was on the side of a pack of Girl Scout cookies we gobbled up last night. I am absolutely floored, amazed, and inspired that this is the Girl Scouts (wo)mantra!

THIS message gives me hope that we are raising a generation of girls who will believe in themselves. By publishing this on cookie boxes for all walks of life to see, we are changing the way our culture views women, giving permission and making it okay for women and girls to be all of these things. And more.

At different times in my career being a risk taker, an innovator, a go-getter, and indeed, daring to be a leader was challenged and criticized. Today the world is changing, one box of cookies at a time! 

I was a Girl Scout until I was in the eighth or ninth grade (it's blurry). I have loads of great memories that I hold dear. More than ever, I am proud to be an alumna. 

Growing up an only child, my fellow girl scouts were my sisters. I've come to learn how important it is to support all of our sisters, at work, at home, at the grocery store, at the ballot box, with our dollars. So, I'm adding an "S" to this acronym to remind us to support one another. Support your sisters. 

You go G.I.R.L.S. And thank you Girl Scouts.
