What's A Shrub?
It’s a concentrated, non-alcoholic syrup made from fruit, sugar and vinegar. And while it owes it roots to ancient times, it's seen a revival in the last decade as the perfect mocktail or cocktail mixer.
What will we do?
Ali owner of Spirit and Abundance and local fermentation expert will guide you through the process in this DIY class. You'll get to enjoy a shrub cocktail/mocktail while making your own jar of shrub to enjoy at home. Of course, you'll also learn all about the history of shrubs as well as the many different kinds of shrubs you can make.

Ali is the founder of Spirit & Abundance, a small business crafting plant based cheese and fermented products in the city of Rochester. A graduate from the Culinary Institute of America and Cornell University and with over 15 years of experience in the kitchen, Ali is dedicated to sharing how to cook living, plant based food along with cultured and fermented creations.
