Toothpaste Tube Key

Traditional toothpaste that contain all or some of these: titanium dioxide, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate (also called: sodium dodecyl sulfate, monododecyl ester, sodium salt, sulfuric acid, aquarex methyl, akyposal SDS, A13-00356), artificial coloring, abrasive agents, parabens, propylene glycol, saccharin, carrageenan, aspartame, diethanolamine.

Go ahead and look them up. Your mouth absorbs whatever you put in it directly into your bloodstream, so even if you're great about spitting and rinsing, you've added these chemicals into your system. Plus, most traditional toothpastes have loads of packaging that can't be recycled. About 1.5 Billion plastic toothpaste tubes end up in US landfills Each Year and we wanted to do better. This tube key is designed to slide on the end of the tube to roll up the metal tube as the toothpaste is being used and to squeeze the last bit of toothpaste out of the tube at the end.

Repurpose or recycle the tube key: 
Key included with each tube of Davids toothpaste is made from steel which is a recyclable material. If you use other products that come in a metal tube (medical ointments, lotions, etc.) consider repurposing your tube key by using with other metal tubes you may be using. If you have no further use for the tube key, you can place it in your recycling bin.

Note on recycling your aluminum ubes: It will be up to your local waste management provider to properly sort/recycle. To increase its chances of being sorted properly for recycling, roll up the clean metal so that sharp edges are no longer exposed, and wad up into a 3" ball to place along with other aluminum foil you are recycling, or place inside an aluminum can that you are recycling.
