DID YOU KNOW THAT NAIL POLISH IS TOXIC?

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but it's true. The majority of nail polishes are full of bad stuff for your health and it's considered toxic waste. And gels... don't get me started. Many nail polishes also contain animal-derived ingredients.

On the kinder side, Liberation non-toxic polishes are thoughtfully formulated to be long wearing AND free from 21 of the most common toxins found in traditional nail polishes, including parabens, phthalates, carcinogens, and mutagens. These harmful chemicals can leach through the nail bed and enter the bloodstream, especially with repeated exposure.

With Liberation Nails, you can feel confident knowing that every coat is safe, clean, and free of hidden dangers. AND... they're available in rich, vibrant shades, thoughtfully formulated with nourishing botanical oils for strong, healthy nails.

Deluxe Bronze  The warmth of copper's glow paired with the depth & richness of bronze.

The majority of nail polishes on the market contain multiple toxic ingredients that can be harmful to health.

Also, while this information is often not shared, many nail polishes unfortunately contain animal-derived ingredients. For example, cochineal insect pigment is sometimes used to make reds more vivid, or guanine crystals, from fish scales or chameleons, are used to add luster and shine in cosmetics.

Liberation shimmer and metallic finishes are made with mineral-based pigments like aluminum powder and silica. They do not use plastic glitter (such as PET or polyester) in any of our shades. The sparkle and shine come from minerals, never from microplastics. Ask your go to brand if they use plastic glitter, the answer may surprise you.

    HOW TO APPLY
    1. Begin with a clean and dry nail.
    2. Apply a thin coat of Double Star (2 in 1 Nail Primer/Protector.)
    3. Allow the base to dry (about 3 minutes) before proceeding with color application. Apply 1-2 thin color coats, allowing each coat to dry (about 5 minutes) before proceeding to the next.
    4. Finish with Double Star (2 in 1 Nail Primer/Protector), letting it dry completely (another 5 minutes).

Pro Tip: Brush over the edge of the nail bed left to right with both the base and topcoat. This is key in providing you with extended wear. Also, use a blow dryer to dry layers between coats.

From Grief to Joy: The Story Behind Liberation Nails

After years of working in the retail world, Staci Morris, Liberation Nails' founder discovered that her true passion wasn’t just in building products—it was in bringing color to life. As a product developer for over 15 years, she found herself drawn to seasonal palettes and the emotional language of hues. She studied color theory, delving into the science behind how color can shift mood, energy, and perspective. But it wasn’t until a deeply personal moment that the transformative power of color truly revealed itself.

At the start of the pandemic, Staci’s beloved mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. In her final days, she asked Staci for something simple: to paint her nails. Sitting beside her mother’s bed, brush in hand, Staci applied color not just to nails, but to memory—to identity, to spirit. In that tender moment, her mother smiled. She felt like herself again. The color reminded her of who she was, beyond the illness. It brought a small light to an impossibly dark time.“It was a profound moment,” Staci reflects. “I realized how powerful color can be. Even something as small as painting your nails can be an act of care, of healing—of liberation.”

That moment sparked a mission. Staci created Liberation Nails to give others that same feeling: of reconnecting with joy, of expressing yourself fully, of feeling nurtured in your own skin. What began in grief grew into a celebration of life, creativity, and self-care. Today, Liberation Nails exists as an invitation—to come as you are, to feel beautiful on your own terms, and to find your moment of color, no matter where life finds you.
